A Better Understanding Of Arthritis

Posted by anita hapsari | 3:20 AM

The term "Arthritis" refers to more than 100 different types of diseases which all cause pain, stiffness, and inflammation in the joints of affected people. All arthritis conditions involve some form of joint pain or the other. However, the seriousness of the joint pain, the duration of the joint pain and degree of the joint pain vary from one type of arthritis to another.

The two most prevalent types of arthritis include Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, in which joint cartilage is destroyed. In other cases of Osteoarthritis, the patient experiences bony outgrowth, also known as bone spurs and also lose of cartilage particles.

Osteoarthritis affects mostly aged people, from 55 years and older. That is why most people say it is an 'aged disease' of the joints. Osteoarthritis is mostly common in the hands, feet, spine, hips and knees of victims.

In rheumatoid arthritis, the patient experiences white blood cells in the synovial membrane dividing, growing and multiplying. These produce inflammation of the joint capsule and synovial membrane, loss of space in the synovial cavity, pain and stiffness in the joint. If there is no arthritis relief and treatment, this may lead to cartilage destruction.

Apart from these types of arthritis, another type of arthritis that commonly affects people is "Inflammatory Arthritis". This type of arthritis causes very severe inflammation in the joints and the tendons of the victims.

This is mostly characterized by the swelling and inflammation of the synovial membrane - thereby causing severe pain and stiffness in the joints of the victims. Inflammatory arthritis makes the joint look red and warm when touched. Arthritis relief for victims is necessary to reduce the pain.

Arthritis relief is therefore very important, especially in a country like the United States where Arthritis is the number one cause of physical disability. There are an estimated total number of 43 million Americans - 16 percent of the population, suffering from one form of arthritis or the other.

It is not only adults who need arthritis relief, but also children. In the United States, about 300,000 children suffer from one type of arthritis related disease or another. Children, being very susceptible to pain, need arthritis relief and treatment more than ever before. Unlike adults who can endure joint pains to a great degree, children cannot and therefore need arthritis relief as soon as the problem starts.

An Overview Of Mesothelioma Cancers

Posted by anita hapsari | 3:19 AM

What are Mesothelioma Cancers?

Mesothelioma cancers are the cancers that spread in the mesothelium tissues. Mesothelium in general is the name of tissue that forms lining of different body organs such as heart, lungs, abdomen and reproductive organs. The lining around abdominal organs is known as peritoneal membrane. Lining around lungs is called pleural membrane while the lining around heart is called pericardium.

These linings perform two functions. They protect the internal organs by producing a lubricating fluid and to allow the smooth movement of the internal organs. Mesothelioma cancers are the cancers affecting these membranes. The names of the cancers depend on the tissue or linings they affect. Peritoneal mesothelioma, pleural mesothelioma and pericardial mesothelioma are the names of cancers of linings of abdomen, lungs and heart, respectively. Pleural mesothelioma is the most common of all mesothelioma cancers and is found in 70 % of the mesothelioma patients. Peritoneal mesothelioma constitutes 10% to 20% of the mesothelioma patients while third type pericardial mesothelioma, is rare.

Symptoms of Mesothelioma Cancers

Symptoms of mesothelioma cancers are same as of other common diseases. It makes diagnosis mesothelioma cancers a difficult task. Pain and swelling in abdomen, weakness, loss of weight, loss of appetite and nausea are some symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma. Symptoms of pleural mesothelioma are persistent cough, difficulty in breathing, weight loss, loss of appetite, weakness, chest pains, lower back pains and difficulty in swallowing.

History

History of mesothelioma cancers goes back to as far back as 1900s. It took about 60 years to gather sufficient information about these mesothelioma cancers. By the end of sixth decade of last century, experts could conclude that exposure to asbestos particles is the reason behind the disease. J. C. Wagner was first researcher to report 32 cases of mesothelioma cancers and confirmed its association with asbestos exposure.

One alarming fact about the mesothelioma cancers is its extended latency period. These cancers may remain asymptomatic in the body for even up to 50 years. Chances of survival for mesothelioma patients are rare and the average survival period after diagnosis is not more than 12-24 months. Surgery if diagnosed early, chemotherapy and radiation therapy are some common treatments for all types of mesothelioma cancers. People suffering from mesothelioma cancers can file lawsuits to recover damages for medical expenses and other damages. They can file the lawsuits against the persons and companies responsible for causing asbestos exposure.

Steps on How to Prevent Diabetes

Posted by anita hapsari | 3:18 AM

Diabetes is more prevalent than ever and 95% of cases diagnosed are type 2 diabetes.

Although for some the development of diabetes is inevitable, perhaps due to heriditery and other factors, for the vast majority it can be prevented by taking these 7 simple steps...

Before diabetes type 2 becomes fully developed you go through a stage known as pre-diabetes.  This is where you start to show some of the symptoms, which if ignored, can lead to full blown diabetes.

Make these 7 action points part of your daily routine and you could stop this disease happening to you:

1) If you are overweight you risk developing diabetes.  Reduce the amount of food on your plate so you gradually eat less and start to lose weight.  Drink a glass of plain water or a sugar-free drink before your meal to take the edge of any hunger pains.

2) Reduce the amount of fat you are eating; grill or bake foods instead of frying; use low-fat spreads and reduced fat meals.

3) Check the Glycemic Index of the food you are eating - knowing what each food contains helps maintain your blood-sugars, which in turn can prevent the full onset of diabetes.

4) Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. If you keep a bottle of water with you and sip frequently you'll be surprised how much you do drink throughout the day.

5) If you are feeling peckish choose a healthy snack rather than a chocolate bar.

6) Use skimmed rather than full-fat milk in hot drinks.

7) Exercise is good for health.  But if you are not use to exercise then start in moderation.  15 minutes gentle walking each day will ease you into a regular exercising pattern.

All of these action points are also the ones that diabetics are advised to take - if you take them now you might possibly prevent irreparable damage to your health.

All About Diabetes: Symptoms, Causes, Types.

Posted by anita hapsari | 3:18 AM

While talking about diabetes, you may be frightened from the idea that you may have it. Or maybe, you may have it in the future. You want to know if you are at risk to develop diabetes and anxiously you're looking to find if you have any diabetes symptom.

Diabetes affects the manner in which the body handles carbohydrates, fats and proteins. If neglected, diabetes can have serious complications. The diabetic people have high blood sugar level. The blood sugar level is regulated by insulin - a hormone produced by the pancreas, which depends on your eating habits.

Diabetes is a serious disease. But the startling truth is that diabetes is reversible. Diabetes is the number one cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD). This disease is a condition where the body is unable to automatically regulate blood glucose levels, resulting in too much glucose (a sugar) in the blood. Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects as many as 16 million Americans.

Actually, there is no clear symptom for diabetes. The most common symptoms of diabetes are as follow:

- being all the time thirsty
- frequent urination
- increased hunger
- feeling all the time tired; having an excessive fatigue,

On the other hand, there are some other symptoms of diabetes that are prescribed as diabetes complications in fact. These symptoms are:

- vision changes;
- recurrent skin infections very difficult to heal;
- tingling or numbness you may feel in your extremities;
- gums disorders;
- Hair loss and many others.

There are two different types of diabetes.

Type I Diabetes (juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes): The reason for type I diabetes is due to pancreas unability to produce insulin.

Type II Diabetes (non insulin dependent diabetes or adult onset diabetes): This diabetes is a result of body tissues becoming resistant to insulin. It is usually hereditary.

Type 2 Diabetes is more common than Type 1 Diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a life-long disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood. Conditions associated with type 2 diabetes include hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia. Type 2 diabetes may account for about 90% to 95% of all diagnosed cases of diabetes. Up to two-thirds of people with type 2 diabetes have no symptoms. Obesity is the single most important risk factor for type 2 diabetes. An estimated 20% of all cases of new onset type 2 diabetes are in individuals between the ages of 9-19. The more you know about type 2 diabetes, the more you'll be able to take the right steps to take control of your condition.

If neglected, diabetes can lead to various complications such as damage to the kidneys, heart disease, nerve damage, hypoglycemia (drastic reduction in glucose levels). Diabetes is a serious disease and there is no treatment of it. However, it can be brought under control by proper diabet diet.

Now you can control your allergies

Posted by anita hapsari | 11:32 PM

Allergies of various types make millions of people's lives miserable everyday and the allergies control at least some aspects of the sufferer's lives. This is unnecessary since measures can be taken to keep your allergies under control. There are different types of allergies, determined by what causes the allergy. The most well known allergies are dust mite allergy, mold allergy, hay fever or pollen allergy and pet allergy.

Each of these different types of allergies creates a different reaction within the sufferer and has different sources, but allergy control measures can be applied to all of them. There are a variety of measures that you can put into effect, but they are intended to be back up measures for the allergy control products that it is advised you buy. There is a very large selection of products available currently. These products will help to reduce the allergic reactions of the sufferer by a large margin.

When focusing on the bedroom, there are eight main product types which are manufactured to decrease the effects of allergies. The bedroom should be the first area to be re-equipped since it is in there that the allergy sufferer spends a large portion of their time and it should be a refuge from the effects of allergies as opposed to aggravating the suffering. The different types of products are roughly divided into two groups, bedding products and air products.

In the group of bedding products there are the categories comforters, pillows and mattress pads. Comforters come in a variety of types and a variety of fills including down and a fiber fill. Most people with an allergy problem would automatically avoid down, but it is warmer than a fiber filled comforter, but you need to ensure that the comforter is hypoallergenic. People believe they are allergic to feathers, but they are in fact allergic to the dust and protein that attaches itself to the feather so if the down has been properly cleaned then it is not a problem. Fiber filled comforters are preferred by those in warm climates or during summer.

There are is a wide range of choices for people who would like a hypoallergenic pillow , whether it is foam, natural or synthetic. This choice is dependent on what you require from your pillow and your level of allergy. Mattress pads were the greatest thing ever invented by the bedding industry for an increase in comfort and support. Some of mattresses are created for hygiene, some are created for softness and some mattress pads are for back and joint support, but for allergy sufferers the important factor is whether they are hypoallergenic. The feather beds provided by Pacific coast are created to be an allergy control product. They come in every size to suit you and they are incredibly comfortable.

In the group of air products there are Air Purifiers, Dehumidifiers, Humidifiers, Steam Cleaners and Vacuum cleaners. These products all cater for different needs and different types of allergies. A dehumidifier would be the best option for a person suffering from a mold allergy, but a humidifier would be beneficial to a person with sinus troubles as a result of their allergies.

Dehumidifiers and humidifiers perform opposite functions, but they still perform well as allergy control products. Dehumidifiers lower the humidity level of the area around it in order to inhibit the occurrence of mildew, mold and damp. They are essential for any allergy sufferer who wishes to stop mold spores from growing within their house or in the basement and also wishes to keep the level of humidity low enough to ensure that dust mites are kept at bay.

Humidifiers come in two types, warm mist or cool mist humidifiers. These will both keep the air around them hydrated to a comfortable level to ensure that your allergies are not exacerbated. Warm mist humidifiers are more useful in cooler climates while cool mist humidifiers are better used in a warmer environment. The determining factors are ease of cleaning and noise levels.

Air Purifiers are very important allergy control products. They should be used in with either a humidifier or dehumidifier in order to get the best from them. A good quality HEPA air filtration device is an indispensable element to ensuring that an allergen free and healthy home is maintained. Air filters literally filter out harmful pollen and particles that will cause an allergic reaction in you. In order to ensure that you can select a high quality product we have circumspectly chosen the finest air purifiers to present for you to select from out of the numerous products we have tested.

Steam Cleaners often look like a vacuum cleaner but that is where the similarity ends. The use of a steam cleaner ensures that you can sanitize, deep clean and deodorize in one simple procedure without using any of the chemicals that can be found in supermarket cleaning equipment. For allergy sufferers, there is the built in benefit that the heat of the steam penetrates deep down into any material being cleaned and therefore the dry steam instantaneously kills any and all dust mites, viruses, molds, and fungi that may be there.

A HEPA vacuum cleaner is a highly effective allergy control product that will suck up all the allergens and dust which have become settled onto furniture floors and carpets. These settled allergens are the ones which keep getting stirred up and therefore consequently inhaled by people due to movement within a room.

One allergy control product will help you to lower the allergen level in the area of your bedroom, but it is recommended that you utilize a combination of products in order to bring the allergen level to it's lowest possible point and therefore bring your allergic reactions to an absolute minimum.

Winning the Diet Wars

Posted by anita hapsari | 11:31 PM

Martha Lewis (note her real name), 22, fresh out of an Ivy League university is now raring to take a shot at the real world.  After making good grades and earning her degree, she feels that she now has what it takes to make a name for herself in the corporate world.  Being fluent in Spanish and French, she felt confident about standing out and being noticed by the powers-that-be.

Still, she knows that her academic achievements cannot cover up for her “aesthetic flaws.”   Martha actually thinks that she's too fat, not good-looking, and desperately lacks good fashion sense.   She also worries about becoming the “object” of office gossip and behind-the-back jokes.  All these years, she was secretly terrified of being the real-life “Ugly Betty.”

After getting a job offer from a Fortune 500 company, Martha frantically went on a diet, or more appropriately, she starved herself.  Without the benefit of getting a doctor's advice or the services of a nutritionist-dietitian, Martha tried to lose weight by subsisting on water and soda crackers --- for almost two weeks.  It was not long after that when she was rushed to the hospital for severe dehydration and hunger.   She did become thin --- and sick.

Like Martha, many women go on a diet without the supervision of a health professional.  Many starve themselves without even first getting the right information about the scientific and safe way to go on a diet.  In some extreme cases,  women fall into the “beauty trap” and then find themselves struggling with anorexia or bulimia --- or both.

To help women who are conscious about their figure and who are equally committed to improve their health, it may be best to read the brief descriptions about popular and safe diet programs:

Points Diet - You can take any food type as you don't exceed the allowed intake (points) for each day. Each food type is given a point equivalent on the calorie intake. This diet is perfect for vegetarians. However, weight loss usually takes time when one follows this diet.

Atkins Diet - This a low-carbohydrate diet that focuses on the reduction of sugar, flour, and corn syrup in the daily food consumption. Nausea, headache, and fainting during the initial stages of following the diet can be expected. These symptoms occur due to adjustment of the body to the loss of carbohydrates.

Low & No Sugar Diet – This diet forbids the consumption of “un-healthy” food with high sugar content.   The diet is premised on the fact that most Americans eat sweet and starchy foods that have little or no nutritive value. These foods also contribute a lot to weight and fat gain.

South Beach Diet - This is the popular “low-carb”diet  but it recommends the consumption of unsaturated fat and good carbs. It is a balanced and healthy diet program.  The diet does not involve calorie-counting. On the other hand, this diet can be expensive and time-consuming to prepare.

The U.S. Department of Health actually has a Food Pyramid system that serves as guideline on how much a person should consume certain food groups. The food group that is located at the apex of the pyramid should be consumed the least while the food group at the base of the pyramid should be part of a person's daily food consumption.  The Food Pyramid is divided into the following four sections that tell you which food you should eat more and what food to cut down:

l    Top Level - fats, oils, sugar and salt (eat the least)
l    Second Level - eggs, milk, beef, pork, fish ( eat in moderation)
l    Third Level - vegetables and fruits
l    Last Level - rice, noodles, cereal and bread

There are a lot of diet plans out there but it is important to get complete, accurate information when it comes to your health and safety.   There are some people who respond better when their diet is complemented by a regular exercise program and the use of doctor-approved quick weight loss pill.  Unlike Martha, women should go on a diet primarily for health reasons and not just to get a lean, sexy body.  After all, having an attractive figure does not automatically make someone healthy.  Having a balanced, well-informed outlook towards weight loss and fitness will surely make a woman beautiful, on the outside and within.

Workplace Issues: One of the Causes of Stress

Posted by anita hapsari | 11:30 PM

Work. Work is sometimes referred to as “the sum of our existence.” Work is why we get up early in the morning and go home late at night. Work is what consumes most of our energies. We need to have jobs, so we are not idle, so we can have sense of purpose, and so we can survive in today's world. Work utilizes our talents, supports our family's needs and wants. However, work is also where we tend to be stressed out, with related issues making us weak, and at times, it even gives us some anxiety panic attacks.

It is mostly at the office where we get spent our waking hours. It is there that that, no matter how much you try to avoid it, you end up feeling like you're trying to outrun a roadrunner despite knowing the futility of the act. It is there that the potential for conflict is high. You get to meet difficult people, you have an “impossible” boss, and you might encounter someone trying to make a move on the same position you've been eying for the past six months. It is there that you first have this mid-life crisis. It is there that temptations abound left and right.

The long hours, the threats of being laid-off, and workplace bullying can cause harmful emotional and physical responses. These things can happen whenever there is a conflict between job demands and working with other people. In retrospect, the high demands of a particular job and the knowledge that we don't have any control of the situation often leads to stress.

Stress produces strain, disrupts equilibrium, and it is the source of any number of emotional, physical, economic and social problems. The stress from our work could be from countless hours in overtime, cutbacks on our privileges, and the pressure to perform to an exacting standard. Prolonged workplace stress leads to  absenteeism, sickness, dissatisfaction, high employee turn-over, and reduced job efficiency. Even petty office politics can be enough to set someone off, making them irritable and rash with their decisions.

According the National Institute For Occupational Mental Health report cites the following about workplace stress:

?    25% view their jobs as the number one causes of stress in their lives
?    Three-fourths of employees believe that workers have more on-the-job stress than a generation ago
?    26% of workers said they were “felt burned out often” by their job
?    Job stress is more strongly associated with health complaints than financial problems

SYMPTOMS OF WORKPLACE STRESS

?    Aching muscles
?    Restless sleep
?    Fatigue
?    Loss of appetite
?    Irritability
?    Low morale
?    Headache
?    Upset stomach

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Don't reach for a chocolate bar for comfort or grab a burger to cope with stress. Here are tips to manage workplace stress.

1.    Yoga – preferably in a gym near your office
2.    Proper Planning – schedule your business trips and other matters, but leave room for adjustments
3.    Balance – find time to focus on your personal and family life
4.    Social Network – surround yourself with friends you can lean on
5.    Positive Outlook – let work-related issues cease to bother you at work

There is a need to have stress management programs. Companies should be concerned with their employees' mental health, as well as the physical, as stress hampers productivity. They should help solve difficult work situations and get to the bottom line. Stress management programs teach workers about the nature and sources of stress, as well as the effects on their health. This program is workable and easy to implement, with many potential benefits for the employer and the employees alike.

A Simple Plan For Weight Loss

Posted by anita hapsari | 6:30 AM

The math is pretty simple. One pound of fat equals 3500 calories. Want to lose a pound a week? Then you need to consume 3500 calories less per week than you use. That's about 500 calories a day. By cutting out 500 calories a day from your normal daily diet, while keeping your activity level the same, you can lose approximately one pound a week.

All right - that doesn't sound like much, especially if you're more than 25 pounds overweight. Study after study has shown, though, that those people who lose weight gradually - at a rate of 1-2 pounds per week -are far more likely to keep the weight off and maintain a normal weight for a lifetime.

So how much exactly IS 500 calories? If you're going to reduce your daily intake by 500 calories, it helps to know what you need to cut out, right? Here's how easy it is to lose 500 calories a day:

* Use milk instead of cream in your coffee. Savings? 50 calories per cup.

* Skip the butter on your baked potato. Savings? 100 calories

* Drink fruit-flavored water instead of a 16 ounce soda. Savings? 200 calories

* Skip the Big Mac and have a salad instead. A Big Mac weighs in at a whopping 460 calories. A fresh salad with a light dressing? Less than 100! Savings? 360 calories

* Pass by the bag of potato chips. An average snack size bag of chips has over 300 calories. Savings? 300 calories

* Eat your corn on the ear. A 1 cup serving of canned corn has 165 calories. An ear of corn has 85. Savings? 80 calories.

* Switch to low-fat cream cheese on your bagel. Savings? 90 calories per ounce.

* Love those fries and can't give them up? Swap the skinny fries out for thick steak-cut ones. Thin French fries absorb more oil than the thicker, meatier ones. Savings? 50 calories per 4 ounce serving

If you'd rather look at losing weight from an exercise perspective, you can also lose one pound a week by upping your activity level by 500 calories a day. How easy is that to do? Take a look:

* Take a half-hour walk around the park. Aim for a pace that's a little faster than a stroll, but not fast enough to be breathless. Burn: 160 calories.

* Get out your bike and take a ride. Tackle a few moderate hills and aim for about five miles total. Burn: 250 calories

* Go dancing - and really DANCE. The longer you're out on the floor instead of at the table drinking up high-calorie drinks, the more you'll get out of it. Dancing that makes you breathless and warms up your body will net you a nice calorie savings. Burn: 400 calories for one hour

* Swimming is great for you, and a lot of fun, too. The water resistance means you burn more calories, and you avoid the stress impact on joints from aerobics, dancing or walking. Do a few laps at a slow crawl - if you can get up to an hour you'll be doing great! Burn: 510 calories

* Get out into your garden. An hour of gardening tasks that includes bending and stretching can burn up to as many calories as a brisk walk. Burn: 250 calories.

* Play a game of tennis. Hook up with a friend for a weekly tennis game and you'll be amazed at the difference. One hour of vigorous tennis is one of the best calorie burners around. Burn: 800 calories

It’s important to keep in mind that all exercise/calorie numbers are based on a woman weighing 130 pounds. If you weigh more, you'll burn more. Want an added bonus to burning calories through exercise? When you exercise, you build muscle by converting it from fat. Three guesses which kind of body tissue burns more calories - even when you're not exercising. You got it - your body uses more energy to maintain and feed muscle than it does fat.

For best results, mix and match food savings with exercises that burn calories. Do keep in mind that eating less than 1000 calories a day for more than a few days will convince your body that it's starving and slow your metabolism. Keep calorie ranges reasonable, and consult a doctor if you want a quicker, more drastic weight loss.

Sleeping Problems in the Elderly

Posted by anita hapsari | 12:54 AM

Sleeping problems in the elderly are more than likely to manifest in a particular pattern, depending on the health of the person, and the prescription drugs they may be taking for their health problems. The quality of their sleep may change considerably, either because of less demands on their energy as a result of retirement, or through illness.

Illness disrupts sleep patters in the elderly, and may result in increased awakenings due to physical discomfort.Urinary urgency, cramps, angina, chronic obstructive airways disease, and left ventricular failure may be some of the many illnesses which cause sleep problems in the elderly.

An elderly person may become very anxious about a change in their sleep pattern, however, it will be necessary to thoroughly investigate the problem in order to ascertain if this perceived sleeping problem, causes dysfunction in their waking activities. If the elderly person has a carer, or lives with family then the problem may be easier to assess, for what appears to be a problem may only be a normal change in sleep pattern for the age.

The most frequently occurring sleep problem in the elderly  appears to be sleep latency, the person may spend some hours in bed before sleep occurs. This may be perceived by the elderly person to be a problem, and sleeping pills may be sought.Sleep latency is more common in females, and this appears to apply in all age groups, not just to elderly persons, however, it does occur more often in elderly females.

Possibly reduced daytime activity, combined with daytime naps may contribute to reduced quality of sleep in the elderly. The pressure of a normal working day has been taken away, so the energy output is considerably less, while this may be offered as a possible reason for sleep latency, many others factors may be involved.

There may be much confusion about sleep latency, the difficulty may be exaggerated because the person who experiences it may be convinced that unless they have 8 hours of quality sleep, they will become ill.Sometimes it is difficult to convince an elderly person that they no longer require 8 hours of unbroken sleep, but may be better served by a shorter night time sleep supplemented with day time naps.

Re the old remedy of a glass of milk before bed:
According to Jean Carper, The Food Pharmacy, milk for insomniacs, never!
Milk, particularly low fat milk wakes you up. " Milk deliver tyrosine to the brain, which in turn triggers production of dopamine and norepinephrine, stimulating you to think more quickly, and accurately".

So how can sleep problems in the elderly be resolved?  Firstly, a warm comfortable noise free environment, regular exercise, good diet, no heavy meals at night, no eating late at night,  relaxation therapies, aromatherapy, herbs like valerian may be taken as a tea, provided that your doctor has been consulted. Homeopathy is the cheapest, the least invasive, the most gentle, with no side effects, and no interactions with any drugs you may be taking. No homeopathic remedies are recommended here for it is important to consult a qualified homeopath in order to achieve the best outcome for the patient.

Sleep problems in the elderly should be thoroughly investigated before any medications are prescribed. Unfortunately this is not always the procedure that is adopted, for often a script is written for what has been described as insomnia by the elderly person, however, such is mostly not the case, but rather it's a normal progression of a resetting of the circadian rhythms which requires education, not medication.

Provided that there is no evidence of disease of the central nervous system, such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, post-traumatic brain damage , and chronic pain, then sleep problems in the elderly are far better managed conservatively.

Yin and Yang in Traditional Chinese Medicine

Posted by anita hapsari | 12:53 AM

The Yin-Yang symbol is a result of the Chinese Philosophy in regards to how the universe functions. The black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies called "Yin" and "Yang"; they are not completely black or white nor can they exist without each other. The curve of the symbol reminds us of the constant change of balance between yin and yang, which represent all the opposite principles one finds in the universe.

The Yellow Emperor said, ''The principle of Yin and Yang is the foundation of the entire universe. It underlies everything in creation.”

Yin, the darker element, is passive, dark, feminine, moist, death, small, and corresponds to the night; yang, the brighter element, is active, light, masculine, dry, birth, large and corresponds to the day.

The cyclical nature of Yin and Yang mean several things to a student of Chinese medicine and philosophy:

All phenomena change into their opposites in an eternal cycle of reversal.

Since one principle produces the other, all phenomena have within them the seeds of their opposite state. For example, sickness has the seeds of health and health contains the seeds of sickness.

Even though an opposite may not appear to be present, nothing is completely devoid of its opposite state.

Traditional Chinese Medicine applies the philosophies of Yin Yang to treat disease. When the body is in balance between Yin and Yang, health is predominant; when Yin and Yang are imbalanced, disease occurs.

According to Chinese medicine texts, diseases caused by yang pathogens usually present themselves with heat symptoms while diseases caused by yin pathogens usually present themselves with cold symptoms. Efforts to diagnose Yin or Yang pathogens result in intake forms with questions such as, “Do you prefer hot or cold drinks?” or “What is your optimal time of day?”

Once a Chinese medicine doctor has determined the nature of an imbalance, he or she aims to restore balance through a variety of approaches such as acupuncture, herbs, and recommended changes in diet or lifestyle. As balance is restored in the body, so is health.

Why Hydrogenated Oils Are Bad For You

Posted by anita hapsari | 12:52 AM

Warning: Do not eat foods that contain partially hydrogenated and hydrogenated fats. These fats are found in all kinds of packaged and junk food. Food manufacturers really don't care about your health when they add hydrogenated oils to their foods.

Good clean vegetable oils are hydrogenated to create shortenings and margarines. Vegetable oils are partially hydrogenated so they can be added to many foods since they become a source of cheap fat and increase the shelf life of the food product.

What do hydrogenated oils do? When healthy oils are processed through bubbling hydrogen at temperatures up to 210 C, un-natural fatty acids are created that are called trans-fatty acids.

Your body is unable to use this un-natural fatty acids so the liver see them as toxic waste and proceeds to detoxify and eliminate them. Trans-fatty acids are one of the most toxic wastes that can be inside your body. Trans fatty acids, also, can block your body's use of the essential fatty acids.

Hydrogenated oils also have all of their nutrients removed during their processing. This forces removal of vitamins and minerals from your body to help digest the stripped hydrogenated oil.

In his book called, Eat Fat Look Thin - A Safe and Natural Way to Lose Weight Permanently, 2002, Bruce Fife, N.D., talks about the dangers of hydrogenated
oils,

"Trans fatty acids affect more than just our cardiovascular health. According to a study reported by Mary Enig, Ph.D., when monkeys were fed trans fatcontaining margarine in their diets,…their red blood cells did not bind insulin as well as when they were not fed trans. This suggests a link with diabetes. Trans fatty acids have been linked with a variety of adverse health effects which include: cancer, ischemic heart disease, multiple sclerosis diverticulitis, diabetes, and other degenerative conditions."

Hydrogenated oils are use by a food processor because they are cheap fats, which increase the size and shelf life of their product.

This is where you find hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated
oils,

*    40% of all foods in a grocery store

*    95% of all cookies

*    75% of chips and crackers

*    70% of all cold cereals and cake mixes

*    80% of all frozen breakfast foods

*    in most microwave popcorn

*    in many salted peanuts and other nuts

*    in most candies

*    most restaurants that fry foods including donut shops

A Morning Smoothie to Help You Stop Constipation

Posted by anita hapsari | 12:50 AM

Chronic constipation can be hard to stop or elimination, since the colon have become weak.  In most cases it will have to be retrained on how to have a bowel movement.

For those of you that have mild constipation, here is a morning smoothie that will help activate your colon.  This smoothie is packed with nutrients that your body will use to regenerate your colon and body.

I have been making this smoothie for a few years.  I make enough to drink right away and to put into my thermos to drink around 10am.

When I make this drink I just start putting things in the blender without measuring. You can do the same and make adjustments as you go.

  *    one peeled banana
  *    4-5 strawberries or other type of berries, or fruits
  *    one tablespoon of lecithin granules
  *    one - two teaspoons of flax seed oil
  *    half and half almond milk and apple juice

In a coffee grinder, grind up around a teaspoon or less of the following:

  *    brown sesame seeds - are high in lecithin, vitamin C, E, and Calcium. They improve liver function and help in constipation
  *    sunflower seeds - are high protein, Calcium, and iron. They are one of the best natural foods which feeds the entire body.
  *    flax seeds - are high in fiber and provide bulk for your stools.
  *    almonds - use around 6-7 or more. They are high in Calcium, Phosphorus and have some B-vitamins. Only eat a few. They are high in calories.

After grinding the seeds, place them in the blender and blender everything for about 3-4 minutes. If you need a little sweetness, you can add a small amount of honey. I find this drink plenty sweet without any honey.

Sometimes I will add the powder of a few acidophilus capsules.

If I don't add the almonds, I just put all the tiny seed into the blender without grinding them up.  The blender will break them up.

This is a powerful smoothie to give you morning power and to activate your colon to get moving.

Using Anabolic Steroids with Cycle for Sportsmen

Posted by anita hapsari | 6:23 AM

facts and evidence shows that Anabolic steroids are the most effective tools for exercise and the safest one when used correctly and following certain rules, called a CYCLE. CYCLE is a term that the athletes use when he was using Anavar. Long cycle usually ranges from 6-12 weeks. followed by rest period (still training, but did not use steroids) for 10-12 weeks.

The goal is clear, minimizing the side effects caused by too long use of steroids. It is believed to undergo a maximum of 2 cycles per year, then the side effects could be very minimal. During the break / not use steroids, you give your body a chance to recover it (it's natural hormone production) and the pressure is obtained during the use of steroids. there are lot of anavar seller you can even Buy Steroids Online if you afraid buying in local market .

Applying the cycle is essential to ensure whether the use of steroids alone success or not. Too long using steroids, then your body's receptor will fail to recognize the incoming hormone (including natural ones). It's not going to happens if you apply cycle.

Down regulate receptor (event decreasing the amount of steroids that bind the cells in the body) generally occurs most rapidly 3 weeks after using steroids. If that happens, then the positive nitrogen balance (an indicator determining whether your body in anabolic state or not) will be reduced unless the increased dose of steroids. Athlete of the wise is always wore this kind of knowledge in designing its own cycle. so Buy Steroids now and get exercise!!!
